9TH of MAY 2015, Adam and his wife Lisa will be running 65km for Cystic Fibrosis and Organ Donation
Adam was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis when he was 6 months old. At that time very little was known about Cystic Fibrosis and the genetics that cause it. Both of Adam's parents were unaware that they were carriers of a CF gene (delta F508) which is the leading cause of cystic fibrosis. At that time the average life expectancy was very young, and Adam's parents were told their 3rd son would not see his 10th birthday. As a young man Adam was told he would not be able to have children because of his CF.
Thanks to advances in the treatment of CF and in IVF/ICSI procedures, as well as Adam being committed to maintaining his lung function through exercise and airway clearance, Adam is now 39 years old and the father of 2 beautiful, healthy girls.
Adam is running 65kms with his wife Lisa to raise awareness and much needed funds for Cystic Fibrosis as part of the "65 Kms For Cystic Fibrosis" campaign. They are running on behalf of those with CF that are not able to, and with the hope that one day CF stands for Cure Found.
Thank you for your support.
