Currently the Unicorn Foundation funds (without government funding) the first nationwide telephone support service (1300 CURE NETS) for more than 10,000 Australian Neuroendocrine cancer (NET) patients. Our nurse specialist offers clinically accurate information, emotional support and referral advice to existing and newly diagnosed NET cancer patients as well as training and information to nurses (incl. cancer council helpline) and clinicians around Australia. The Unicorn Foundation NET Nurse also attends the Nuclear Medicine department and Lutate clinic each Tuesday at Peter MacCallum in Victoria to provide support to patients going through treatment. With a minimum 10 contact points each day this service has proven to be vital to our patients and health professionals and needs to be funded beyond one year.

Travel cost for the NET nurse to attend patient support groups in each state.
Pay for a staffs wage for one year
