The MRC Foundation 'Walk For Phil' is a 23km walk, inspired by Phil Sly, a larger than life horse racing identity who lost his staunch and rallying fight against “The Grub” of cancer in 2016.
This year, the MRC Foundation 'Walk For Phil' will take place on Friday 20th April, 2018 in aid of two of Phil Sly’s favourite charities - Pinchapoo and Very Special Kids. This walk is to honour not just Phil's life - one fully spent - but to work towards providing life-changing differences for others.
Walking 23kms from Moonee Valley Racecourse to Caulfield Racecourse, via Flemington Racecourse, the walk encourages the generosity of the nation’s third biggest industry, to reach beyond it’s own participants, fans and supporters to embrace the general community.
First off, make sure you REGISTER for this year's event.
Registration is $65 including a 'Walk For Phil' shirt, breakfast, BBQ lunch, and post-walk gala event with drinks, masseurs and entertainment; the Walk starts at 8am sharp (7am registration) and concludes at 3pm.
We are aiming to raise $100,000 from our 2018 Walk, which will help fund the ongoing services provided by both organisations - help us make a difference.
The event is being run under the Pinchapoo ABN with all funds split evenly between Pinchapoo (ABN 21 603 724 018) and Very Special Kids (ABN 86 109 832 091).
