The Waterline Challenge is an Australia wide event, which raises money to assist those who face adversity.
The Challenge is to each year cover as much as possible of Australia’s entire waterline, including rivers, lakes, and islands during the week of the 12th to 18th November 2018.
Being for everyone, we encourage involvement from people of all walks of life and with as much creativity as you can imagine: walk, run, cycle, paddle, row, sail, swim, skate, windsurf, horse ride the waterlines of Australia.
Belonging, feeling part of something is the key to creating real change. Together we can make a big impact and raise funds for ROMAC, the Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children. We are United to Conquer Adversity.
You participate as a team of between three to ten members, including the team leader. There is no restriction on who can be part of a team, only the leader must be at least 16 years old. The team decides the section of waterline (coast, rivers, lakes, islands) and how far they will travel, the direction they will follow, and their mode of travel. You can be as imaginative as you like.
Finally, create your team for the 2018 Waterline Challenge on Benojo by clicking the Fundraise - Fundraise as team button on this page.
Every participant is asked to try and raise a minimum of $200.
ROMAC provides specialist medical treatment for children from island communities of the Southwest Pacific, in the form of life-saving and dignity restoring surgery that is not available to them in their home country.
Doctors and their medical colleagues provide complex surgery pro bono. Administrative and operational management is provided by unpaid Rotarians and volunteers.
All donations are used to transport children from their remote places of living to surgical hospitals in Australia and New Zealand, and to pay for their hospital beds and convalescent care.
