Volunteers are the life blood of Dandelion and corporate volunteers play an important part in allowing us to help families and children in need. Corporate Volunteering is a great way for employees to volunteer and connect with their local community, together with a group of colleagues.
Sessions at Dandelion are fun, productive and rewarding. You'll be helping to prepare donations of nursery items and baby equipment essential for the safety and well-being of children and their families - for distribution to vulnerable families in the community. Our expert team will guide & support you and make sure you have a fun & impactful day.
We can accommodate individuals and groups of up to around 12 people. Sessions are generally run 10.30am to 2.30pm. Thursdays are preferred, but please contact us about a day of the week that best suits your needs.
The Dandelion Support Network is a volunteer run, not-for-profit organisation. Our volunteers accept, sort and safety check pre-loved nursery equipment and children’s clothes for distribution, free of charge, to families in need through referrals from hospitals and support agencies.
Through the power of recycled goods, volunteers and wholesale prices for new items - it costs us an average of $150 to support a vulnerable family with an average of $580 worth of essential items for their children
We'll put together a variety of tasks depending on the size of the group and what is most needed at the time.
Tasks may include assembling cots and bassinets, sorting clothes, shoes, toys, processing donations, making packs for families in need and helping prepare items for social workers to collect. Every day at Dandelion is different.
Be sure to wear comfortable casual clothing with covered in shoes for safety. It can be cold in winter and hot in summer, so please dress accordingly.
