Entheogenesis Australis (EGA) - Website and Ethnobotany Online Content Fundraiser -Donations Matched!

This fundraiser aims to support the creation of ethnobotanical content for our online platform and stand-alone conference web site. In times like these, we feel it's important to celebrate and contribute to the culture, art, politics and community around medicine plants.

With your help, we aim to produce a new series of botanical photo essays, interviews and articles to expand the conversation about medicinal plants in Australia and beyond. Via our online platform we will share lectures and journal articles, but we need your support to realise this major project.

Who are we?

Entheogenesis Australis is a charitable, educational organisation established in 2004; we provide opportunities for critical thinking and knowledge sharing on ethnobotanical plants, fungi, nature, and sustainability.

Through our conferences and workshops, we aim to celebrate the culture, art, politics and community around medicine plants in the hope to better wellbeing for humankind and the planet.

Symposium and Events

For almost two decades the Entheogenesis Australis (EGA) conferences and events have provided a major meeting place for ethnobotanical enthusiasts in Australia. The events host an array of speakers from across Australia and abroad. EGA is dedicated to addressing issues relating to plants and plant-related compounds and their use from social, cultural and traditional perspectives.

Our next scheduled event is Garden States 2020.

More about the project

EGA urgently needs a full web page update and redesign! Your donation to this campaign will enable us to develop and build two new websites. One webpage will be the new online home of EGA original material and our related media projects like Entho TV. The main website will have a ‘knowledge hub’ content and multimedia focus. There we will be able to engage with EGA friends and share with the community our extensive library of materials from EGA lectures, botanical fact sheets, and past journal articles. We will also be launching our new botanical long-form articles project with the new page.

The second web page will be a standalone page for our large conference events, and its content will be specifically related to the next EGA symposium. This new site will allow us to better integrate speaker bios and related content and show off the conference without getting too content heavy.

Perks

If you want to receive a perk, simply donate the exact amount of that perk. Perks will be posted 4-6 weeks after the campaign has closed or as soon as the items become available (if impacted by COVID-19 crisis). We will personally contact you after campaign regarding postage information and other necessary details i.e. T-shirt sizes.

How much support do we need?

To actualise the core online platform rebuild, we have to raise $6,500 to make this happen. We estimate that we will need an additional $6,500 to produce the first round of new media content and cover the cost of the production of the donor perks. We hope to achieve this in part with help from the EGA community, which will be matched dollar for dollar with philanthropic support up to $7500. We understand the difficulties in the current climate, so we appreciate your generosity over the years.

If people can dig deep at this time, any excess funds generated will be used to produce further content for the EGA main page, and to help us implement our upcoming Garden States 2020 Symposium.
