Hope Family Cottage is a newly established community-based organisation which provides supervised child contact and family support services to those experience family break down and crises.
Founder Lisa Joye became aware of the need to provide a home-like environment for children to have supervised contact with their parent(s) after working in child protection where she provided supervised contact in offices, too often on hard floors with no toys to play with and no place for babies to have tummy time. She became aware of hand-overs taking place in McDonalds restaurants and at local police stations, and felt this was not fair for the children involved.
Lisa decided to set up Hope Family Cottage to provide a safe and inviting home-like environment with wrap-around services to support children and families in a way they need and deserve.
The current priority of Hope Family Cottage is to raise $30,000 in order to buy a safe, modern and reliable vehicle to facilitate hand-overs for children, transport children to and from their supervised contact with their mum/dad and establish a community outreach program which provides hands-on help to single parents as they work to re-establish their lives following family breakdown.
Hope Family Cottage Inc. is auspiced by Iris Foundation and supports its efforts to reduce the risk of suicide on the NSW Central Coast by fostering connection, hope and resilience.
