Your Very Own Autumn Happiness Project Is On Its Way….
You already know how good exercise is for your physical health but you might sometimes underestimate how good exercise is for your mental health. Studies show that for treating mild-moderate depression, exercise can be as effective as talking therapy and medication. Consider those in Tasmania then who are living with Cystic Fibrosis, a chronic, life-shortening condition. Every CF sufferer and their carers need intensive support to facilitate well-being programs such as mental health care plans and exercise programs.
WHAT AND WHEN:
From April 19th – May 30th 2021, Hobart Fitness Training will be facilitating a 6 week personal happiness and health challenge called the “6 in 6 Challenge - Happiness Thru Exercise” raising money for Cystic Fibrosis TAS and their Annual 65 Roses Fundraising event.
The aim will be to undertake as little as 20 minutes light to moderate exercise for 6 days every week for 6 weeks, doing whatever it is that you love to do. It can be strength training, walking or jogging, walking the dog, swimming, bike riding, rock climbing, rowing or Pilates.
Studies show that even 10-15 minutes walking on the beach can have a big effect on how we feel and how we ride out challenges in life. For sufferers of CF, this is critical in helping them feel more positive to cope with their diagnosis and symptoms.
