Perinatal anxiety and depression is common – it affects up to one in five expecting and new mums. It affects dads too. Around 100,000 families across Australia are affected every year.
PANDA operates Australia’s only specialist National Helpline to support women, men and their families experiencing perinatal anxiety and depression.
We have specialist expertise and a unique and in-depth understanding of the experiences of people living with perinatal anxiety and depression.
PANDA’s unique model of support has created a community of women and men whose lives have been improved – and sometimes even saved – through the support of the National Helpline.
This community of highly engaged women and men comes from all walks of life and all income levels. This community is grateful to PANDA for our support and therefore has a close bond with the PANDA brand.
Through the success of our services, our special expertise and our consistent, values-driven messaging PANDA has a rock solid and highly trustworthy profile with individuals and organisations.
This combined with our ever-growing community of engaged individuals and families, means PANDA could be an attractive potential partner to many businesses.
In addition to our Helpline PANDA also works to raise awareness about perinatal anxiety and depression. There is still a great lack of understanding in the community about this illness, including the signs and symptoms to look for, and where to go to seek help. There still exists a great deal of stigma around the illness. So there’s a lot of work to be done to be done to raise awareness so mums and dads living with perinatal anxiety and depression can know what’s happening to them and can seek help and recover.
PANDA relies on fundraising dollars – including corporate support – to do this work. We’re also grateful for support from businesses to help us raise awareness through their own channels.
