The ongoing successful management of these reef systems relies on 'grass-roots' knowledge coupled with other types of knowledge and technologies (e.g. scuba diving assists with reef management, research, and tourism efforts).

Funds raised here help facilitate community engagement, train local women to become scuba dive professionals, and help to conserve cultural and environmental heritage.
