Give The Gift of Self-Worth This Christmas

Christmas is a difficult time for women and girls in our mentoring program and often they do not receive gifts or have enough money to purchase gifts for their children. WJN would like to be able to provide a small gift to the women and girls we work with to assist in building their own self-worth, and to feel that there are people in the community supporting them.

ABOUT WOMEN'S JUSTICE NETWORK MENTORING PROGRAM

The Women’s Justice Network (formally known as the Women in Prison Advocacy Network – WIPAN) is a grassroots organisation that aims to improve the lives of women and female youth affected by the criminal justice system.
Since 2010 WJN have recruited, interviewed and trained female volunteers from the community to mentor women being released from prison. The Mentoring Program provides women and female youth who are affected by the criminal justice system or are at-risk of entering the system the necessary practical and emotional support to minimise the difficulties they face reintegrating back into the community or working with them to divert them from entering in the first place.
The ultimate outcome of the Mentoring Program is to assist women and female youth to make positive choices and lifestyle changes that promote their global wellbeing, reduce their risk of recidivism and ensure access to basic human rights.
