Helping out your mates has been a huge part of rugby league since its inception. It was on this premise that The Men of League Foundation was founded.

After seeing true legend of the game Doug McRitchie lying alone in a hospital bed some years ago, I was inspired to do something to bring our community together - off the field as well as on. Those who have contributed so much to rugby league deserve our recognition and respect, both in times of triumph and hardship.

And so, in partnership with Jim Hall and Max Brown, we founded The Men of League Foundation to support members of the rugby league community who have fallen on hard times. Our vision was to build a Foundation that provides practical assistance with everything from medical operations, rehabilitation and nursing equipment to welfare support, grants and scholarships.

More than a decade on, The Men of League Foundation has grown to boast a robust membership of more than 26,000 - all passionate members working towards a shared vision to celebrate our game’s rich history and provide assistance and support to players, coaches, referees, officials and administrators from all levels of the game and the broader rugby league community.

Dandelion Support Network Inc. was founded late in 2011 by two mothers who wanted to make a difference in their community. Importantly, the work undertaken by Dandelion fills a service gap in the community service industry and is built on a partnership model, working alongside social workers and case managers to support families.

Dandelion’s vision is that all babies and children have access to nursery items essential for their safety, well-being and development and we achieve this while reducing the environmental footprint of the community. As we do not receive any government funding, we rely on volunteers and the generosity of the community for donations to allow us to continue our work.

2021 marks the 10-year anniversary of Foster Care Angels.

Over the past 10 years we have worked hard to support disadvantaged children and young people in foster care.

Our current programs focus on the education, support and empowerment of young people by providing them with essential life skills, emotional literacy, and stable accommodation post 18.

The outcomes for young people leaving care are poor and we are committed to providing unique services that change outcomes and life trajectories for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in our community.

Without government funding, we need your help to continue to support vulnerable and disadvantaged young people for another 10 years.

They say it takes a village to raise a child. A tax deductible investment of just $10 per month will make a difference.

The Launch Pad
This is a long term subsidised and independent living program with essential life skills training and the facilitation of education and employment pathways for vulnerable young people.

A Maze In Mind
A web based application and online workshop program, designed for young people aged 13-24 years, to empower them with the tools and knowledge in the areas of mental and emotional health to build resilience, increase confidence, understand and manage their emotions and create a healthy coping strategy toolkit.

Help rebuild the lives of people who have experienced human trafficking here in Australia and partner to end this crime.

UnLtd is a social purpose organisation connecting the media, marketing and creative industries with charities helping children and young people at risk.

The support includes cash, time and skills to support phenomenal organisations that are tackling the challenges of abuse, neglect, grief, trauma, homelessness, illness and isolation that over 680,000 young Australians are struggling with.

UnLtd Good Deeds is a virtual volunteering campaign, linking the professional skills of our industry with UnLtd’s portfolio of charities. Culturally Diverse Arts Education

Heartdancers Charity is based in Sydney, on the Gadigal and Bidjigal lands and waters of the Eora nation.

We work with a broad range of Schools, Communities, Councils and Organisations across Sydney to deliver accessible and inclusive Arts and Culture programs, workshops and events that celebrate the diversity of our community and cultivate connection, belonging, respect and unity to contribute to Australia's reconciliation.

Be Centre is a special place supporting children and families whose lives have been impacted by trauma such as physical or sexual abuse, neglect, bullying, divorce, illness bereavement, drugs and alcohol or other mental health issues.

A child’s pain and suffering are often not outwardly visible and they may not have the words to express their experiences or feelings. Our unique Play and Creative Therapy programmes offer a safe environment for children to tell their stories, helping them make sense of what is happening on the inside to restore their trust and build self-confidence so they can grow up with prospects not problems.

Be Centre is a registered charity and relies on the generosity of individuals and corporate Australia to ensure that we can assist every child who turns to us for help and support – the demand for our services has never been greater.

Beehive Industries Co-operative is a NFP Social Enterprise established in 1971 to provide support to persons with disability over the age of 30 and active seniors over 55
We provide work activity a leisure centre art activity a computer learning centre for our service users

Dharma Care Inc (DCI) is an Australian registered charity that was established in 1981.

Our mission is to build bridges between those who care and those who need. We help the distressed and severely disadvantaged. Our projects support families, children and the elderly in regional communities in Australia and overseas to live joyful, meaningful and sustainable lives. We provide services, facilities and safe spaces through social enterprises and public donations. We collaborate widely, support other charities and foster donors’ trust through professionalism and transparency.

DCI owns and operates Sine Cera Rainforest Retreat on 200 acres of pristine country adjoining the Border Ranges National Park in Northern New South Wales. The venue accommodates up to 100 and is used by a range of businesses, charities and individuals. Other charities and family groups receive significant discounts on bookings.

DCI is a member of the Susila Dharma International Association (SDIA) and Susila Dharma Australia (SDA). SDIA has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) & the U.N. Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and is affiliated with the UN Department of Public Information. In Jan 2019, SDIA was placed 282 in the Top 500 NGOs list compiled by NGO Advisor. SDIA (https://susiladharma.org/) is charity with a network of national organizations and associate member projects from 24 countries. DCI collaborates with SDIA on projects that have similar objectives.

Stand Tall-The Event charity is bringing hope, relief and support to young Australians facing adversity in their high school years: addressing issues such as self-harm, suicide, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying and domestic violence, social isolation.

We operate in several key areas:
A : We provide students from Years 8-11 with an exciting one-day event as a school excursion, where students hear empowering messages from their pop-culture role models, in a safe environment where professional support is on-site:

3 key things students leave the day with:

1. Self- belief and hope that they can enjoy a successful future

2. The power of resilience and how not to let the past dictate the future

3. How to take a stand against bullying and other dangerous behaviours and become leaders

B: Students attending the Event are given the opportunity to attend the Stand Tall Champions Camps which provide holiday respite and support to those in need. These camps provide nurturing, self-value and leadership and sports training and are transforming young men and women into self-confident leaders. These students then become student leaders at future camps and events.

C: Personal support and resources following the camps and events.

Despite 1 in 4 young people suffering a mental health issue by the end of adolescence, mental health issues are not openly discussed and remain the ‘elephant in the room’. Of every 30 students in Australia, seven will be dealing with a mental health issue, yet only two will reach out for support, leaving five suffering in silence. Sadly, most young people dealing with mental health issues do not reach out for help, largely due to stigma.

batyr is a for purpose preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. We smash the stigma surrounding mental ill health and empower young people to reach out for support. We help create communities that support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

batyr has a vision where all young people are engaged in positive conversations about mental health and empowered to reach out for support when needed.

Our purpose is to transform, inspire and enrich the lives of disadvantaged children through learning and playing music. We believe music is for all children, no matter their social, economic status or ethnicity.

At SeeBeyondBorders, we train Cambodian teachers so that they can provide children with a quality education. In a country still recovering from civil war, our investment in education is providing a simple and proven route out of poverty.

We are the only organisation in Cambodia that supports teachers to train their peers, and provide mentoring to sustainably develop teachers’ skills. This simple and effective approach has been recognized internationally by the UNESCO-Hamdan prize for outstanding contributions to improving teaching quality.

To ensure children can access the quality education they deserve, we also work in partnership with local communities to improve school facilities, and to encourage children to come to school and value education. So far we have trained 523 teachers across 199 schools to educate some 27,000 children and help them to achieve their potential in school.

BUILD A HOUSE WITH VOLUNTEER BUILDING CAMBODIA

Our simple, sturdy Khmer-style wooden houses provide shelter and security for Cambodian families living in need. Poor education, lack of skills and a shortage of job opportunities mean many rural Cambodians are still living in extreme poverty with inadequate shelter.

Our houses replace fragile structures that offer little protection from the elements. We've seen first-hand how improved living conditions change lives, through better sanitation, increased security, better sleeping arrangements and healthier living. Children in secure homes are less likely to get sick and more likely to attend school.

We work with volunteers from around the globe to build safe, dry housing for rural Cambodian families. Volunteers work under the guidance of our skilled building team to construct a house in one week.

Nationally there is a need for preventative mental health interventions that reach some of Australia’s most at-risk individuals for mental-ill health and suicide.

The statistics are startling. Suicide is a leading cause of death in Australia. On average 9 people a day take their own lives, 7 of whom are men. (ABS, Preliminary Data 2019). 1 in 5 Australians will experience a common mental health disorder each year, while almost half will experience mental ill health in their lifetime. (AIHW, 2019)

OzHelp’s suicide prevention initiatives rely heavily on fundraising and donations to further their work in areas where stigma is pervasive and access to remote or isolated workers is difficult.

OzHelp’s projects focus on male-dominated workforces where they deliver physical and mental health checks, and suicide prevention training. Priority industries are construction, transport, and farming and agriculture.

All donations contribute to ensuring OzHelp’s life-saving programs and support remain as a trusted presence within some of Australia’s most at-risk industries.
