Help rebuild the lives of people who have experienced human trafficking here in Australia and partner to end this crime. The Freedom Hub runs the only specialised long term care for survivors of slavery in Australia. We do not run a program but instead, develop a life time relationship and mentoring for people who have experienced this crime in our country.

Despite 1 in 4 young people suffering a mental health issue by the end of adolescence, mental health issues are not openly discussed and remain the ‘elephant in the room’. Of every 30 students in Australia, seven will be dealing with a mental health issue, yet only two will reach out for support, leaving five suffering in silence. Sadly, most young people dealing with mental health issues do not reach out for help, largely due to stigma.

batyr is a for purpose preventative mental health organisation, created and driven by young people, for young people. We smash the stigma surrounding mental ill health and empower young people to reach out for support. We help create communities that support young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

Helping out your mates has been a huge part of rugby league since its inception. It was on this premise that The Men of League Foundation was founded.

After seeing true legend of the game Doug McRitchie lying alone in a hospital bed some years ago, I was inspired to do something to bring our community together - off the field as well as on. Those who have contributed so much to rugby league deserve our recognition and respect, both in times of triumph and hardship.

And so, in partnership with Jim Hall and Max Brown, we founded The Men of League Foundation to support members of the rugby league community who have fallen on hard times. Our vision was to build a Foundation that provides practical assistance with everything from medical operations, rehabilitation and nursing equipment to welfare support, grants and scholarships.

More than a decade on, The Men of League Foundation has grown to boast a robust membership of more than 26,000 - all passionate members working towards a shared vision to celebrate our game’s rich history and provide assistance and support to players, coaches, referees, officials and administrators from all levels of the game and the broader rugby league community.

Lifeline Northern Beaches provides quality telephone and in-person support services to relieve distress and suffering caused by crisis situations. Lifeline’s nationwide 13 11 14 service provides 24 hour a day, 7 day per week assistance to those in need. We connect people-at-risk, or their families, with care that helps them through their crisis, no matter what it might be.

UnLtd is a social purpose organisation connecting the media, marketing and creative industries with charities helping children and young people at risk.

The support includes cash, time and skills to support phenomenal organisations that are tackling the challenges of abuse, neglect, grief, trauma, homelessness, illness and isolation that over 680,000 young Australians are struggling with.

Be Centre is a special place supporting children and families whose lives have been impacted by trauma such as physical or sexual abuse, neglect, bullying, divorce, illness bereavement, drugs and alcohol or other mental health issues.

A child’s pain and suffering are often not outwardly visible and they may not have the words to express their experiences or feelings. Our unique Play and Creative Therapy programmes offer a safe environment for children to tell their stories, helping them make sense of what is happening on the inside to restore their trust and build self-confidence so they can grow up with prospects not problems.

Dharma Care Inc (DCI) is an Australian registered charity that was established in 1981.

Our mission is to build bridges between those who care and those who need. We help the distressed and severely disadvantaged. Our projects support families, children and the elderly in regional communities in Australia and overseas to live joyful, meaningful and sustainable lives. We provide services, facilities and safe spaces through social enterprises and public donations. We collaborate widely, support other charities and foster donors’ trust through professionalism and transparency.

DCI owns and operates Sine Cera Rainforest Retreat on 200 acres of pristine country adjoining the Border Ranges National Park in Northern New South Wales. The venue accommodates up to 100 and is used by a range of businesses, charities and individuals. Other charities and family groups receive significant discounts on bookings.

DCI is a member of the Susila Dharma International Association (SDIA) and Susila Dharma Australia (SDA). SDIA has consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) & the U.N. Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and is affiliated with the UN Department of Public Information. In Jan 2019, SDIA was placed 282 in the Top 500 NGOs list compiled by NGO Advisor. SDIA (https://susiladharma.org/) is charity with a network of national organizations and associate member projects from 24 countries. DCI collaborates with SDIA on projects that have similar objectives.

Over the past 10 years we have worked hard to support disadvantaged children and young people in foster care.

Our current programs focus on the education, support and empowerment of young people by providing them with essential life skills, emotional literacy, and stable accommodation post 18.

The outcomes for young people leaving care are poor and we are committed to providing unique services that change outcomes and life trajectories for the most vulnerable and disadvantaged young people in our community.

Without government funding, we need your help to continue to support vulnerable and disadvantaged young people for another 10 years.

The Launch Pad
This is a long term subsidised and independent living program with essential life skills training and the facilitation of education and employment pathways for vulnerable young people.

A Maze In Mind
A web based application and online workshop program, designed for young people aged 13-24 years, to empower them with the tools and knowledge in the areas of mental and emotional health to build resilience, increase confidence, understand and manage their emotions and create a healthy coping strategy toolkit.

Dandelion Support Network Inc. was founded late in 2011 by two mothers who wanted to make a difference in their community. Importantly, the work undertaken by Dandelion fills a service gap in the community service industry and is built on a partnership model, working alongside social workers and case managers to support families.

Dandelion’s vision is that all babies and children have access to nursery items essential for their safety, well-being and development and we achieve this while reducing the environmental footprint of the community. As we do not receive any government funding, we rely on volunteers and the generosity of the community for donations to allow us to continue our work.

Stand Tall-The Event charity is bringing hope, relief and support to young Australians facing adversity in their high school years: addressing issues such as self-harm, suicide, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol abuse, bullying and domestic violence, social isolation.

We operate in several key areas:
A : We provide students from Years 8-11 with an exciting one-day event as a school excursion, where students hear empowering messages from their pop-culture role models, in a safe environment where professional support is on-site:

3 key things students leave the day with:

1. Self- belief and hope that they can enjoy a successful future

2. The power of resilience and how not to let the past dictate the future

3. How to take a stand against bullying and other dangerous behaviours and become leaders

B: Students attending the Event are given the opportunity to attend the Stand Tall Champions Camps which provide holiday respite and support to those in need. These camps provide nurturing, self-value and leadership and sports training and are transforming young men and women into self-confident leaders. These students then become student leaders at future camps and events.

Heartdancers Charity is based in Sydney, on the Gadigal and Bidjigal lands and waters of the Eora nation.

We work with a broad range of Schools, Communities, Councils and Organisations across Sydney to deliver accessible and inclusive Arts and Culture programs, workshops and events that celebrate the diversity of our community and cultivate connection, belonging, respect and unity to contribute to Australia's reconciliation.

Camp Breakaway (known as Breakaway) was established in 1982 as a registered non-profit charitable organisation and is a registered service provider for National Disability Insurance Scheme and a member of National Disability Services.

Breakaway is committed to enhancing the lives of all people with disabilities, at the same time allowing relief for families and carers.

Our aim is to care for the whole family, recognising that parents and siblings need to have support and respite too.

Breakaway respite camps (more like a holiday) provide friendship, fun, laughter, games, rest, and relaxation for children and adults with disabilities, children with high medical needs and their families.

Breakaway also provides specialist camps for children with autism, rare disorders, Smith Magenis Syndrome and young people with disabilities.

Due to Breakaway's 35 years of experience and facilities, Breakaway can cater for adults and children with severe and multiple disabilities and the aged and frail.

Breakaway is located on 11 hectares in San Remo. A wonderful semi-rural site surrounded by native bushland. Facilities include accommodation for 96 people, playground suitable for children with a disability, jumping pillow, tennis court, putt-putt. Lodges suitable for activities and seminars, commercial kitchen, catering. Respite camps include accommodation, meals and activity programs. Camps range from one day to seven days.

Our camps are supported by staff experienced in disability, high medical needs and aged cared. Volunteers provide companionship care for our guests.

The Breakaway site is available for hire by community groups and the general public. An ideal place for a seminar, family gathering, or holiday. The profits from site-hire go towards Breakaway providing respite programs for the community.

BUILD A HOUSE WITH VOLUNTEER BUILDING CAMBODIA

Our simple, sturdy Khmer-style wooden houses provide shelter and security for Cambodian families living in need. Poor education, lack of skills and a shortage of job opportunities mean many rural Cambodians are still living in extreme poverty with inadequate shelter.

Our houses replace fragile structures that offer little protection from the elements. We've seen first-hand how improved living conditions change lives, through better sanitation, increased security, better sleeping arrangements and healthier living. Children in secure homes are less likely to get sick and more likely to attend school.

We work with volunteers from around the globe to build safe, dry housing for rural Cambodian families. Volunteers work under the guidance of our skilled building team to construct a house in one week.

Little Wings provides a free, safe and professional flight and ground transport service for seriously ill children and their families from regional NSW. We support children with serious and chronic illnesses who need to travel long distances to receive specialised medical treatment at the Children's Hospitals in Sydney and Newcastle. Our aim is to reduce the travel fatigue, financial burden and emotional stress and to keep families together during a difficult time.

Nationally there is a need for preventative mental health interventions that reach some of Australia’s most at-risk individuals for mental-ill health and suicide.

The statistics are startling. Suicide is a leading cause of death in Australia. On average 9 people a day take their own lives, 7 of whom are men. (ABS, Preliminary Data 2019). 1 in 5 Australians will experience a common mental health disorder each year, while almost half will experience mental ill health in their lifetime. (AIHW, 2019)

OzHelp’s suicide prevention initiatives rely heavily on fundraising and donations to further their work in areas where stigma is pervasive and access to remote or isolated workers is difficult.

OzHelp’s projects focus on male-dominated workforces where they deliver physical and mental health checks, and suicide prevention training. Priority industries are construction, transport, and farming and agriculture.

All donations contribute to ensuring OzHelp’s life-saving programs and support remain as a trusted presence within some of Australia’s most at-risk industries.

The Women's Justice Network mentor and advocate for women and girls affected by the criminal justice system.

Women's Justice Network (WJN) is a socially inclusive based charity managed and directed by a group of women, dedicated to improving the status, wellbeing, and prospects of women and female youth in the criminal justice system. WJN takes a holistic approach to address the social injustices that exist for women and girls in the criminal justice system and campaigns to raise awareness of, and progress the cultural, social, economic and political inequalities that sustain these injustices. WJN operates a voluntary adult and girls mentoring program that seeks to enhance the well-being of women and girls by increasing their social capital, supporting their community reintegration, encouraging their autonomy and learning from their lived experience.

Our focus is on people who are most in need, who are suffering from loneliness, mental illness, addictions, homelessness and other factors which alienate them within society. Those with the fewest options and who are most alienated are our special care.

Cana Communities began as De Porres House in 1975 and has continued under the name Cana Communities Inc since 1995. Working in inner-Sydney, the organisation has set up a number of overnight shelters and homes. Since 2011, Cana has operated a Farm at Orchard Hills in the western suburbs of Sydney. At Cana Farm, people have the opportunity to learn and work in a supportive, caring environment.

The organisation is mostly run by volunteers, and is solely reliant on donations from the community. Cana Communities receives no government funding, and is grateful for your support.

Our primary purpose is to provide relief from poverty, suffering, destitution and helplessness for people struggling with mental illness, addiction, homelessness, loneliness and other factors that alienate them from society. Cambodian Children’s Trust (CCT), is a Khmer-led organisation located in Battambang, Cambodia that is focused on strengthening families by promoting local agency, community empowerment and sovereignty.

Our Village Hive model combats and prevents multidimensional poverty. The model brings multi-sector services into villages and mobilises community-wide action to protect children, prevent child-family separation, reunite families and foster long-term resilience and self-sufficiency.

We are working on a pilot to shift power to local communities by integrating the Village Hive into public systems and facilities where it can be delivered sustainably by communities.

Our advocacy efforts are focused on areas which are underfunded, cost effective and have high-impact that make a real difference.

Our grassroots advocates tackle a pressing poverty issue each month. We educate ourselves about the issue and then create real change by taking action.

Our actions are strategic and can include writing a letter to or meeting with an MP or Senator on the issue to encourage them to take action.

Over more than 25 years our grassroots members have achieved amazing results for the world’s most disadvantaged people. In the last decade alone our efforts have helped direct hundreds of millions of lifesaving dollars towards effective health, education and microfinance programs worldwide.

Women’s Legal Service NSW is an independent non-profit, community legal centre providing expert legal advice and support and a voice for women in NSW, and promoting women's access to justice. It is the only state-wide specialist domestic violence legal service for women and it has been supporting women in desperate need for over 30 years.

Our Foundation is an independent organisation, set up to support and promote innovative projects and to campaign for reform of unjust laws, policy and legal processes that affect the rights and limit the lives of women, particularly those most disadvantaged by their social and economic circumstances in their access to justice.

Diamond Women is a warm, engaging community based not-for-profit organisation that provides holistic support to women and their families facing an unplanned pregnancy.

Diamond provides counselling, outreach, parenting and mentor support groups, material assistance and casework service referrals. These services are readily available for young, vulnerable, pregnant and or parenting women as well as their families who are in crisis.

Since its launch in 2006, Diamond has provided over 1,200 pregnant and parenting women and their families with thousands of hours of counselling, mentoring and support. Our service has always operated twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week to ensure women can access the support they need any time. We support women from Greater Western Sydney, Central Coast, South West, Sydney CBD, Illawarra and surrounding areas. As of September 2018, Diamond Women’s Support, and Sara’s Place merged together to increase strength in numbers, resources and support for all women in need of help.

The women and families that we see at Diamond are some of the most vulnerable and at risk in our community. Without the care, counselling, practical assistance and support services that Diamond provides our clients and their babies would face a very uncertain future.

Community Action Services Australia (CASA) is a non-profit organisation, registered charity and endorsed deductible gift recipient (DGR) based in Wakeley, NSW. We strive to assist everyone in the community, regardless of age, gender, nationality, religion, or sexuality.

Regional Youth Support Services (‘RYSS’) is a leading youth support agency and is a registered charity and Not For Profit. RYSS deliver front line youth support services and innovative engagement strategies to vulnerable young people between the ages of 12 and 25, and their families in communities. Our main purpose is to help the disadvantaged to relieve poverty and distress and target people in need. RYSS is now in its 34th year of providing local, intensive case management, community outreach programs, early intervention support, material relief from poverty, family reconnections, Indigenous support programs, fundraising events, and education to reduce harm, poverty and distress. Iris Foundation is a Central Coast charity dedicated to reducing the risk of suicide in our community.

Iris Foundation delivers and facilitates programs and activities that reduce suicide by fostering hope, resilience and connections.

The Foundation is supported through philanthropic grants and fundraising.

Centre For Hope is all about empowering disadvantaged young people to respect themselves, to connect to the wider community and to create an inspired life.

Our team works with Australian youth aged 6 to 18 years who are suffering adversity through causes such as financial hardship, mental disorders, physical and learning disabilities, mental, physical and sexual abuse, substance abuse and suicidal tendencies and who, because of their circumstances, suffer a significant degree of helplessness.

The Kaden Centre delivers Exercise Oncology and Exercise as Medicine to people diagnosed with cancer or chronic disease. Individualised, targeted exercise programs are prescribed, delivered and supervised by physiotherapists and exercise physiologists. All programmes are grounded in medical evidence.

The Kaden Centre is a friendly, safe environment, helping people on their journey to wellness and a quality life. The lounge and kitchen area is a place to relax, chat with fellow Kaden's (fighters/warriors), read a book from our library or just enjoy a cuppa. Bring a friend or family member and get them involved.

Exercise oncology can improve survivorship and decrease recurrence by up to 50%.

Nova for Women and Children are a specialist homelessness service in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas of NSW.

Nova assists women (with or without children) that may be experiencing or at risk of homelessness, or escaping domestic and family violence with temporary crisis accommodation, case management support and to maintain safe accommodation or to remain safely in their home.

Each day, Nova accommodates up to 80 women and children across 4 refuge sites - with most nights being at full capacity.

Over a year, that equates to providing over 27,700 nights accommodation for vulnerable women and children that may otherwise have simply no where else to remain safe.

Hunter Prelude has been providing quality early childhood intervention services for over 30 years, for children and their families in the Cessnock, Maitland, Dungog, Singleton, Scone, Muswellbrook and Upper Hunter LGAs.

Daystar has operated since 2001 in the South West of Sydney. Historically we have concentrated our efforts in socially and economically disadvantaged communities. Dingo Den Animal Rescue is a registered Australian charity run by a national network of volunteers.

Dedicated to saving the wild-hearted, we exist to save the lives of dingoes, empower wildlife carers, and prevent the extinction of Australia's vulnerable fauna and flora.

Saving the wild-hearted is our passion and we hope it will become yours too.

As a registered charity with the ACNC, our key commitments are to prevent or relieve the suffering of animals, and to advance the natural environment. We take these two obligations so seriously that they constitute the basis of eighty-five percent of all our activities, while the remainder of our endeavours support indigenous culture programs, aspiring students and local community initiatives.

A closer look at how we achieve our commitments are:

• Rehabilitating dingoes that have come into human possession via injury, trauma or environmental displacement
• Providing specialised care facilities for displaced dingoes in need of physical and psychological treatment, namely the
  Dingo Den Animal Rescue Sanctuary
• Assisting displaced dingoes out of life-endangering situations (i.e. kill pounds and abusive home situations)
• Empowering and educating dingo owners to become the best carers they can be, with the long-term goal to end dingo
  homelessness, abuse, neglect, abandonment and euthanasia
• Providing temporary foster carers for dingoes whose owners are no longer able to care for them
• Finding permanent ‘forever’ homes for dingoes in foster care so that they can live the rest of their lives as part of a family
  that understands the special needs of dingoes
• Ensuring that all animals in foster care receive necessary veterinary treatment throughout their time in foster care

Connect’s work started in Katoomba in 1981 with a small children’s disability service, Possum. Connect now supports families through its services in communities in the Lithgow, Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury and Western Sydney areas.
Our family support programs include community based play groups, transition to school programs, volunteer-based parent and carer support programs; NDIS and Medicare funded disability and allied health care and programs; and early childhood education and care in three centres in Hazelbrook and Mt Victoria.

We provide affordable and accessible accommodation to those from rural and regional NSW who have to travel to Dubbo for medical treatment. Treatments can include cancer, accident and emergency, day surgeries, maternity and so much more. Many of our guests are travelling 3-6 hours by car. Where a guest's stay is approved, we also bulk bill IPTAAS on their behalf reducing the financial cost while staying with us (especially when they stay for upwards of 2 and 3 weeks). We have 14 rooms in stage 1 and based on the admissions from Dubbo Hospital, the upcoming completion of stage 3 & 4 redevelopment of Dubbo Hospital and the Western Cancer Centre opening in 2021, we need to build more units.

Right now, there are over 5,000 Queensland families loving and caring for a child with a life limiting-condition. Sadly, this means that their child is not expected to reach 18 years of age. The emotional, physical and financial struggle for these families can be overwhelming. And the opportunity to stay connected—to their partners, other children, family and friends—almost impossible, as they navigate their role of 24-7 carer.

Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice, and one of only three children’s hospices in Australia. We provide a medically supported home away from home for children and young people with a life-limiting condition and their families. Our services include short break stays, family support, physical and creative therapies, care at the end of life and after death, and ongoing bereavement support.

Since opening our doors in late 2016, Hummingbird House has welcomed over 300 families from right across Queensland into our warm embrace, providing them with kindness, compassion, and care as they navigate life with a child with a life-limiting condition.

Hummingbird House is a place that brings families together and provides an opportunity to breath out – without the day to day demands of caring for their child. It’s a place that allows families to spend quality time together, reconnect, and make memories – recognising that every second with their child is precious. It’s a place where parents and carers can recharge by getting some much needed downtime and rest – letting us care for them, as they care for their loved ones.

SBH Disability Services provides information, advice, support and services to improve the lives of children and adults with Spina Bifida Hydrocephalus and other complex neurological conditions. Our 22 staff provide information, therapy, social work, and school support to 700 children and adults with spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus throughout Queensland. We do not provide medical advice. Our mission is to enrich the lives and well-being of people living with disability, particularly spina bifida and hydrocephalus. To achieve this, we provide high-quality client-led support to individuals, families, and carers by way of information, family support, therapy and teaching services.

Drug ARM's team of caring and experienced specialists help build resilience by addressing all of the factors that contribute to and maintain alcohol and other drug issues. With more than 40 locations across 2 states Drug ARM helps transform lives through specialist services. Through a holistic approach, we’ve been able to achieve positive transformation for individuals, families and communities for over 170 years. With the help of 400 volunteers annually, Drug ARM serves the community 365 days be year.
Programs at Drug ARM cater to many ages and are free for all participants.

We aim to:

• Build resilient youth with family support, parenting programs and school awareness and workshops
• Assist adults with evidence-informed clinical and support programs focusing on rehabilitation and management of alcohol and other drug dependency, street outreach services and correctional services education
• Support families through community awareness, our Break free For Families program and other support

The Sunshine Coast Animal Refuge was established in 1979 and celebrated its 40th year in 2019 and rescuing and rehoming over 40,000 cats and dogs in that time! Over 30,000 of those animals have been rescued from the Sunshine Coast local pound. SCARS saves and rehomes approximately 1,000 cats and dogs a year.

SCARS was one of the first animal rescues recognized as non euthanasia in Australia. We are an independent, non-profit, charitable organisation, and rely on the support of our community, bequests, & donations.

We currently have over 70 animals waiting to be adopted from the shelter or in foster care as well as over 200 in permanent foster homes. All cats and dogs at the SCARS are Vet checked, vaccinated, wormed, desexed and micro chipped prior to being available for adoption to the public.

The Shack Community centre, is a community based organisation that endeavours to support all walks of community. We offer a 3-fold approach to our support, taking the position to be able to assist people in their physical, spiritual and emotional journeys.

Connect42 is a purpose driven not-for-profit organisation that works with people to build their communication skills so they can live whole lives in connection with others.

Cystic Fibrosis Tasmania helps Tasmanians with CF to live longer and healthier lives and provides support and advocacy for the CF community in Tasmania. We receive no Government funding, and so we rely on fundraising as a major way of providing these valuable services to our members who live with this chronic, life-shortening condition.

Girl Guides provides a non-formal education program that is a dynamic, flexible and values-based while training in life skills, decision-making and leadership. It is supported by trained volunteer Leaders who are committed to empowering girls and young women to discover their potential as leaders of their world.

The Australian Guide Program (AGP) promotes life-skills and leadership, making friends and enjoying the outdoors. Everything that Guides do is related to the four elements of the AGP and activities are based on the seven fundamentals of Guiding.

Guides provides a unique girl only space. International research has shown that boys and girls learn very differently. Guides are encouraged by Leaders and peers to explore their personal boundaries, in a safe and secure atmosphere. By this, Guides learn that girls can do anything. Guide Leaders consistently report a special feeling about Guide meetings. It’s an energy the girls generate because they want to be there.

Who We Are

Children First Foundation (CFF) is an Australian based charity. We facilitate life-changing, sometimes life-saving, surgery for disadvantaged children from developing countries.

These children are unable to access the medical care that they need, as the complex, and often multiple surgical procedures required, are not possible in their own countries. CFF has enabled over 450 children, from 32 countries to receive the care and treatment they need.

Our Work

CFF assists children with a wide range of congenital conditions or acquired injuries. Each case referred to us is carefully assessed to ensure that the condition is operable, and that suitable treatment isn’t available in their own country. Most of the children we assist are suffering from conditions that in Australia would have been treated immediately at birth or diagnosis, dealt with correctly at the time of injury or, due to better living conditions, simply never encountered at all. The inequalities in our world are never clearer than when hearing the stories of the children who pass through our doors.

Pre and post-surgery the children are cared for at our Retreat. The Retreat is supervised 24/7 by a team of volunteers and skilled staff, including nurses. Volunteer teachers provide educational activities to support the children’s learning during their stay. A range of physiotherapists and other allied health specialists donate their time to ensure that rehabilitation and recovery programs are carefully followed to maximise outcomes from the surgery. This unique model of community-based care provides a home-away-from-home for the children as they prepare for, and recover from, life-changing surgery.

Following surgery and rehabilitation, the children return to their homes and families healthier, happier and with renewed hope for their futures.

Impact

The direct outcomes of our Program range from saving a child’s life to increasing mobility and other physical functionality, removing disfigurements and reducing pain.

These surgical interventions also have a much broader impact on our children and their families than simply improving their health. They often remove some of the barriers faced in achieving long term economic independence such as access to education, work and social acceptance. The impacts are often much more wide reaching than the individual. For example, increasing a child’s independence may allow a mother to return to work, resulting in extra funds for the family ensuring that siblings can attend school. The support ripples out to improve the lives of the families and wider community of the children we assist.

Why support us

Any funding that we receive will ultimately allow more young people to access to the life-changing surgery they need.

Despite incredible support from the medical sector there are many expenses that we still need to source funding for. Even where a child surgical care is sourced completely pro-bono, we still need to cover costs such as international and domestic travel expenses, food and supplies for children and carers, rehab and pre/post-surgical costs such as blood tests and x-rays etc.

It costs us approximately $81 per child, per day to run our program, as CFF is not eligible to receive government funding, we rely on the generosity of donors.

Muscular Dystrophy Australia (MDA) is the one-stop-shop for information and support for the 1 in 625 Australians, adults and children, living with one of the 60 neuromuscular disorders under the muscular dystrophy umbrella. These are rare conditions and people can receive a diagnosis of MD at any age.
Our Client Services Team assists families and individuals who are newly diagnosed; connecting them with doctors, neurologists, allied health professionals, and the Neuromuscular Clinic at the Royal Children’s Hospital. MDA also provides education and respite opportunities.

RoundTrip is an international development organisation based in Australia. We believe that travel can play a key role in fighting poverty, as well as acting as a bridge between peoples and cultures to help celebrate diversity.

We believe travellers should respect other ways of living, care for the environment, engage with local peoples and spend money in ways that benefit the local community.

RoundTrip has two major areas of operation. Firstly, we actively nurture the growth of responsible travel via an online resource, which features a host of articles from some of the world’s best travel writers. It covers a diverse range of issues from endangered wildlife to gender inequality.

Secondly, we establish and support grassroot programs in Africa and Asia that deliver sustainable development. We create the opportunity for travellers and tourists to make a real difference by giving back either through donations or volunteering their time.

Friends of Mithra is a not-for-profit organisation that seek to educate and provide a safe home for children from poor families who are mentally and physically challenged.
Mithra in Chennai was founded by Australian nun, Sister Mary Theodore, and is supported by Australian schools and local communities. It is also a pathway for a number of Australian high school students seeking immersion with those at the margins of society.
The work done within Friends of Mithra is all pro bono enabling 100% of donations to reach those in need.

Perth Centre for Photography is Western Australia's only dedicated photographic arts organisation. Our aim is to promote and support emerging and established photo-based art in Western Australia. We offer an environment that promotes an understanding and appreciation of contemporary photographic practices. PCP exhibits photography with meaningful artistic direction. Art for enjoyment, art that inspires discussion and debate on social and cultural issues, sharpening critical thinking, and stimulating sensitivity to difference and diversity. And, art that explores and provokes new thinking about the world and photography.

Shooting Stars is an educational program that uses sport and other tools to encourage greater school engagement amongst young Aboriginal girls and women. We empower Aboriginal girls and women in regional and remote communities to make informed choices about their education and employment journey, helping them strive for the stars.

Shooting Stars works collaboratively with the local community, schools and service providers to affect genuine change in the lives of more than 500 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls. Importantly, the program produces results. More than 25% of participants improve attendance term on term, while 50% of participants maintain an average attendance rate of 80% or above.

Furthermore, Shooting Stars is a key driver in creating equality for female leaders and generational change, with 85% of its staff and 66% of its Board identifying as Aboriginal. Our Program Coordinators are inspiring, women who are responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the program, and our outcomes are measured and reported using an Indigenous evaluation protocols.

Operating since 2006, Koya Aboriginal Corporation (Koya) is a 100% Aboriginal owned not-for-profit organisation. Guided and led by Aboriginal people and with a focus on engaging and retaining Aboriginal staff. The organisation’s mission is to gather Aboriginal grassroots knowledge and community-lived experiences about what builds individual, kin and community strength, so that Aboriginal and vulnerable children and young people may grow, succeed and thrive in their chosen life journey.

Koya is an inclusive community group that welcomes other vulnerable children and families and we use our Kinship Care model to connect communities to each other. Underpinning Koya’s delivery of services and programs is the Pindi Pindi Centre for Research Excellence in Aboriginal Wellbeing which, through research and evaluation based on the principles of sustainability, empowerment and cultural security, provides evidence to inform program development, implementation and delivery.

Koya has operated in the Swan region since 2006 and in Kwinana region from 2017 and has served all members of that community, Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal, in a variety of different ways.

Ebenezer provides supported accomodation for homeless, homes for those transitioning from homelessness, in-home parenting support, domestic violence support and an Aboriginal employment service.

As part of the largest experiential learning program devoted to entrepreneurial action, Enactus Australia annually engages more than 600 students in 13+ universities, conducting on average over 30 projects in any year. In the 3 years from 2018 – 2020, students positively impacted the lives of over 1,200 people through their projects, many of which have now developed into self-sustaining social enterprises

The Blue Wren Foundation is focused on Men's Relationship Education and Health and Wellbeing.
Our signature work is our 'Line in the Sand' programs.

The Coral Sea borders the Great Barrier Reef and the island archipelagos of Melanesia, and contains marine ecosystems of exceptionally high quality and biodiversity. This region accommodates the last great reservoir of ultra-diverse coral reefs in the world, however it currently has insufficient marine protected areas to achieve robust conservation outcomes. Our aim is to raise awareness of the ecological and social value of the Coral Sea and the Eastern Coral Triangle and take a proactive role in its sustainable management.
Marine reserves support local fisheries and safeguard biodiversity, but in this region, they can only be successful if they are initiated, administered and supported by the local communities. The "Sea Women of Melanesia" program selects intelligent and determined young Melanesian women and trains them in conservation theory, scuba diving and marine biology survey techniques so they have the skills to communicate the need for marine reserves to their local communities and can identify areas suitable for marine protected areas on their own coral reefs.
The Coral Sea Foundation supports the Sea Women trainees in this work and helps the landowners to research and register their marine protected areas and provides humanitarian assistance by way of clean water infrastructure, medical care and education support in order to promote the participation of the community in the marine reserve process. Our grassroots approach has a proven track record of success, and the broad skill-set within our team and our experience working in the remote islands of Melanesia gives us a unique capability to deliver cost-effective results in this area of exceptionally high conservation value.

The Mercedes-Benz Club NSW (Inc) was formed in late 1971, when a small group of young Mercedes-Benz enthusiasts came together to form what is now the MBCNSW. That group has now grown to a much larger club of more than 650 members, with more than 2000 Mercedes-Benz new and classic vehicles registered to them.

The collections of those members Mercedes spans from rare 1930's models, small sedans of the late 1940's and the huge Adenauer limousines of the 1950’s and practically all models of sedans and sports cars made in each decade from that time until today.

The club is a ‘not for profit’ organisation administered by volunteers and has designated office bearers such as President, Treasurer, Secretary, an Executive Committee and general members.

The club holds membership meetings once a month (except January), where we discuss new scenic drives and events, the latest news from Mercedes-Benz and listen to guest speakers. We usually have one or two social drives a month interspersed with technical days and static display days such as the hugely popular Sydney German Autofest and our own Concours day.

The Coal Point Progress Association (CPPA) was established in 1946 'to work for the betterment of the community' and has been a respected contributor to community life ever since. The CPPA is embedded within the community physically, the foundation members had the foresight to build Progress Hall which has served as a gathering space since 1951.

The CPPA has evolved with the changing nature of the community and the group's aims are:
a) To enhance the natural environment of the Coal Point peninsula and surrounding areas by protecting, preserving and regenerating habitat for indigenous flora and fauna.
b) To advance social welfare, community spirit and sustainability in the Coal Point and surrounding area through community education and engagement.

HR4A is a charitable law firm that provides some of the most senior, dedicated and passionate legal minds in Australia, free of charge, to people being held in indefinite and long-term detention. HR4A seeks liberty for all, regardless of race, colour, religion or economic background. Most human rights organisations focus on those asylum seekers on Manus or Nauru. There are few, if any (apart from HR4A), which dedicate resources for onshore detainees.

We are driven by empathy. Operating pro-bono, many of our activities rely completely on volunteer support as well as donations from individuals and organisations who share the same passion for freedom.

HR4A takes on the “too hard” or “impossible” cases, which have often exhausted traditional legal approaches. HR4A actively looks for aspects of cases that have not been pursued fully or can be challenged in an alternative fashion.

We challenge the current narrative around people seeking asylum through the success of our cases, submissions to human rights organisations and media engagement. We push the system to ensure the basic human rights of people in detention are recognized and respected.

We believe that the current system of immigration detention needs to be brought to the attention of the Australian public along with the UN and other international human rights bodies, through public discourse and media focus. To advance our cause, we are training the next generation of human rights lawyers through our internship program.

Grapevine Group Association Inc is a locally-founded community group which raises funds and awareness for suicide prevention in the Mackay region. At present, Mackay has a high suicide rate but, with your support, we believe we can become the safest region from suicide in Australia.

Grapevine Group has operated since 2004, and is a registered charity. The group is operated by volunteers and relies entirely on community support for its fundraising which is put back into local suicide prevention programs and initiatives.

The goal of Mums4Refugees NSW is to dismantle Australia’s inhumane processing barriers and restrictive policy frameworks (at all levels of government and social sectors?), to bring about a fairer, humane and more inclusive and equal society where the strengths and benefits/contributions of People Seeking Asylum and Refugees are valued, and where they are safe and thriving.

Street Industries is a volunteer-run not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and young people in the community. We offer a range of innovative community-led initiatives that build the capacity of children and young people through mentoring, life skills, leadership, and community development.

Our Real8 Program supports socially disadvantaged CALD children/young people aged between 12-20 years of age. The program focuses on connecting them with their community, equipping them to make healthier choices around their lives, particularly around drugs and alcohol. The program has been successfully run at a number of schools in the South West area of Sydney.

Our Street-Smart Program supports young people aged between 10 to 24 years of age who are at risk/or are involved with the criminal justice system. The program focuses on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and CALD young people in two areas of Sydney - Redfern/Waterloo and Canterbury/Bankstown. The program operates on an evening between the hours of 4 pm to 10 pm.

Reconciliation Tasmania’s activities are focused on promoting healing, truth-telling and unity for all Tasmanians. We are guided by the reconciliation pillars of voice, treaty and truth.

MindFx is a not-for-profit start-up with bold plans and a big heart. Help us to establish the FIRST MindFx Centre in Brisbane for young adults experiencing mental illness.

A passionate group of professionals has come together to deliver ‘Better Recovery Pathways’ for young adults (aged 18-27 years) with challenging mental illness, using a community-focused model of psycho-social recovery support involving intensely delivered wrap-around support services. Delivered under the care of dedicated Mental Health Coaches, our programs comprise conveniently co-located services and proven holistic therapies and activities. The MindFx Centre is rich with supportive volunteer mentors, encouraging clients to build connections with existing social enterprises and take an active role in designing their own recovery plan.

The current mental health system is failing our young adults! It’s time to change it forever.

Real Life Scenario: I am 19 years old and I am at my lowest point, mentally. I am alone, scared, confused … something is about to give. I ask myself questions like; “How come everyone around me seems ok? Will I ever feel ok again? The future feels terrifying. I need help where people understand me, where do I go? Why can’t I do anything right?” I can’t see my way out. No one is listening to me. I can’t live like this. Help Me Please!

Mental illness usually strikes in adolescence or early adulthood and is very common. Fourteen percent (14%) of Australian children aged 12-17 years have a mental disorder, whereas approximately 25% of young adult Australians (aged 18-27 years) have a diagnosis of mental illness with the incidence being higher in females (30%) compared with males (23%) - sources Australian Institute of Health and Welfare and Australian Bureau of Statistics.

Every day across our community, a young person and their loved ones face the challenges of mental illness. What often ensues is a very long and seemingly never-ending cycle of medication changes, medical appointments, different medical opinions, foreign terminology, expense without progress, and clinical labels. Although orchestrated with the best of intent, in mind, by exceptional clinicians and specialists at world class facilities, the young adult patient consistently reports feelings of hopelessness, frustration, despair, and disconnection. All too often, the person feels a distinct lack of control over their state of being, and this combined with lack of purpose during such a difficult time leads to a loss of identity and self-worth, making it harder to maintain relationships both within the peer group and wider social networks. We as a community need to unite to fight this predicament on behalf of all young adults. Together we can make a difference to the lives of so many!

The system is broken and doesn’t adequately cater for the unique needs of young adults.

While there are specialised hospitals in Australia that deal with the acute presentation of mental illness, maintaining wellness after hospital discharge is very challenging. Good support and close management from a multidisciplinary team is one of the keys to a successful recovery within the community. Sadly, the support and management of young adult clients in the community following hospital discharge is a tragedy. Following an acute mental health episode, clients are released into the care of their families or the wider community with limited personal recovery support. Both clients and their families/carers have to find their own way through the maze of unnavigable options.

The system is fragmented and poorly coordinated. There is no formal supported transition back into the peer group in relation to work, study, family, and friendships. It’s inefficient and ineffective. And so, begins the painful cycle between hospital and home, back to hospital, back to home, many times over. The outcome is to effectively stall the recovery process and each time makes it that much harder to become involved in the community. This broken model is very costly in terms of hospital admissions, lost productivity, and in the worst cases lost lives. For those on this painful cycle, there is significant and long-term (often several years) social and financial impacts.

This is a complex problem to solve. MindFx endeavours to be the leader in providing solutions to support young adults fighting mental illness by finding BETTER RECOVERY PATHWAYS.

The people, the provider and partner organisations, behind MindFx are a highly committed, passionate, and professional group of individuals, practitioners, and organisations, who have come together to provide Better Recovery Pathways for our young adults with challenging mental illness.

MindFx’s mission is to significantly shorten (and to eventually break) the current hospital-home-hospital-home cycle of despair and to empower young adults with a lived experience of mental illness to live full and productive lives in the community.

By developing meaningful connections with our established social enterprise partners, along with the opportunity to take on real jobs within a MindFx Centre, our clients gain a tremendous boost to their career prospects and confidence. To begin offering MindFx’s innovative model of care to vulnerable young adults struggling with mental illness, MindFx requires the generous support of the community. Initially, we must demonstrate how this model of care will positively impact the lives of so many young adults who are currently slipping through the cracks. In time, we aim to reach all those impacted, with MindFx Centres available to young adults in communities of need right across Australia.

We are confident in our Model, and in the funding partnerships that will materialise (based on Government funding criteria) once the evidence and outcomes from our first cohort of clients is reported. Until then, we are urgently seeking start-up funding in the form of community donations to the tune of $250,000. This will enable us to secure a commercial lease over the first MindFx Centre, engage a core team of professionals including Mental Health Coaches, Admissions and Support staff who will bring the MindFx vision to life and ensure that every MindFx client has a positive experience with the Centre and enjoys many life-changing outcomes during their recovery program.

How can we stop plastic pollution from killing wildlife and suffocating our planet?

In 2009, two friends set about answering this question. Marine ecologist, Roberta Dixon-Valk and youth educator, Amanda Marechal developed Take 3 – an idea where a simple action could produce profound consequences. Joining forces with environmentalist, Tim Silverwood, the trio publicly launched Take 3 as an organisation in 2010.

Take 3 pieces of rubbish with you when you leave the beach, waterway or…anywhere, and you have made a difference.

The Take 3 for the Sea movement was born.

Whether you’re in mountains, forests, deserts or cities – you need the ocean. And the ocean needs you.

Take 3 is leading a movement of people who are connected to the planet to remove plastic pollution from the environment and support measures to prevent waste and pollution.

Our education programs in schools, surf clubs, communities and online focus on inspiration and participation. We believe everyone has the power to take action and create positive change, no matter where they are.

Take 3 supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advocates for a circular economy future. Our ‘throw away’ society fuelled by overproduction, overconsumption, single-use materials and poor waste management is damaging our planet irreparably. The current system is not sustainable.

The circular economy (opposed to the current ‘take-make-dispose’ linear model) is renewable and regenerative by design. Technical nutrients are recovered to create new materials while biological nutrients are processed to regenerate agricultural and natural systems. The circular economy model is built entirely on renewable energy and aims to design waste out of the system.

Panthera Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation with the aim to improve Australia’s financial situation focusing on youth and young adults.

The Foundations primary method of support is through its grant program, providing funding to non-profit organisations that use education, training and development to equip young Australians with financial literacy, education and employability support and resources.

The Western Sydney Vocational Training Committee Inc.(WSVTC) is an association consisting of VET industry representatives including employers, government, education and Registered Training Organisations, with a common aim to promote apprenticeships and traineeships. Our aim is to enhance the standard of vocational skills in the Western Sydney region.

The WSVTC actively encourages the employment and training of apprentices and trainees amongst employers, both large and small. The Committee promotes vocational education to school leavers so they may consider taking up one of a multitude of apprenticeships and traineeships which are offered in a broad range of businesses.

SEEDS is a Lifestyle Medicine Solutions Not-for-Profit Association and ACNC registered charity. We exist to advance education in lifestyle medicine, to prevent and control heart diseases, anxiety and depression by using a comprehensive health promotion approach.

4eyes Foundation aims to improve vision and thus educational and economic potential, and psychosocial wellbeing of the one billion people worldwide who are visually impaired simply because they lack access to affordable glasses.

Most of these people live in remote and developing communities, and can't get glasses because there are no professionals to test their eyes, they are geographically isolated, and/or they can't afford glasses.

The 4eyes Vision Kit was invented by Dr Sarah Crowe, a Sydney-based ophthalmologist, to address this pressing need. It is a transportable kit which contains everything a layperson needs to test for and dispense customised, affordable glasses on the spot.

Pilot projects have been undertaken in Papua New Guinea with great success. New projects are currently underway in indigenous Australian communities and Timor Leste. With funding, the 4eyes Vision Kit can be introduced far and wide to communities in need. Any support you can give would be so greatly appreciated.

At Redfern Youth Connect we are a charitable not for profit and we are strong believers in the ability of our youth to succeed. Our programming and activities are designed to help our youth reach their goals and fulfil their highest potential. The Aurora Australis Foundation works to preserve the legacy of Australia's only locally-built and longest-serving Antarctic icebreaker, the Aurora Australis.

The AAF also supports the preservation and promotion of Australian Antarctic heritage and history.

We are currently fundraising to support a new heritage project to commemorate Australia's history of Antarctic shipping. The intent is to build a display centred around the Antarctic support boat Aurora Australis II and be located on the Hobart waterfront.
