$35,156! Wow! Thank you so much to every person and business that supported us. We greatly appreciated every single dollar donated along the way. Our initial goal was $10,000 (with a sneaky hopeful goal of $15,000) but as the challenge progressed and we realised how much time and effort we were putting in (hundreds of hours. No, seriously!) we felt it deserved to raise a lot more! Not only did we smash $35,000 but we raised a lot of awareness. The girls were front page of The Mercury, interviewed on ABC breakfast radio and 7HOFM, had their story published on ABC Hobart, Pulse Hobart and The Hobart Magazine, and a great interview on 7 News Hobart with Ambulance Tasmania. The iconic photos of the girls landing tricks were shared far and wide with crowd favourites being; with local police at Hobart Police Station, with Premier, Jeremy Rockliff in his office, and skating around the Hobart Airport runway. The Paint ‘n’ Sip event at Archaica Schola was a hit thanks to the support and generosity of owner, Hamish. The family event with wonderful She Shreds Australia was lots of fun and also helped us raise lots! 25 local distilleries were so kind donating to the whisky auction, adding over $9,000 to our tally. A special mention to John at Transportation Whiskey and Sean at Australian Whisky Auctions for their kindness, hard work and support with this. An extra thank you to Kingborough Carpet Care and Health & Leisure for sponsoring our challenge and helping us raise even more by matching donations from the public. These businesses helped contribute over $3000 towards our tally. Thank you to everyone who liked, commented, shared, attended events, donated and talked to people about our campaign - you all helped us. A big thanks to our families for their support throughout the month and for helping look after the girls’ siblings while we were so busy! Finally, a huge thank you to the businesses that supported us by letting us into their locations to capture photos of the girls on their boards. We learned to much about these locations along the way and the girls got a great insight into lots of different careers which was an added bonus!
